Beach Day

Finally took Koivu down to the larger off-leash beach south of us. The weather was perfect and we had a blast. We did some retrieves along the beach, but mostly Koivu is a pleasure swimmer. We'd be walking down the beach, he'd look up at me for permission, then just swim off, do a few circles and come back to me. He loved every minute of being there and there were plenty of other labbies to play with.

Looks like lots of fun. How do dogs like the salt water. Do they need to be rinsed when you are done? Do they ever have problems with the undertow. Anyway they are great photos and it looks like good times.

Mine likes any kind of water - salt, pool, mucky retention pond - and he loves to play in the waves and surf. I'm sure if the undertow or current was extremely strong it could be a problem, just as it is for people, but he was doing fine in the area we were in.

Was that Juno Beach? We were there last year and HK had a ball. She couldn't get enough of the ocean.
