wow, this rawhide is lasting forever...

Jack walks into the room with a rawhide cigar. I think, okay, he found that rawhide I hid under his bed. He lies down and starts chewing it. I continue reading.
After a while, he gets up and leaves. Comes back, keeps chewing.
He leaves and comes back again. Chewing still.
I think, wow! He's really making that rawhide last.
I look over at him... and it's a different rawhide from the one before. I have two different types in my special hiding palce in the kitchen, and this is not the first type of rawhide he was eating.
I got to the kitchen... and he's broken into my rawhide stash and has been eating a new cigar every fifteen minutes!
