I know it's silly to ask, but how do you stop your labs from making holes in your sheets? I know we asked for it by allowing Hamilton to sleep on the bed but most of the time our biggest problem is Hammie taking up all the space. Last last night he dug and made holes in the sheets and mattress protector. Thank goodness he didn't go through to the mattress.
Hamilton, Rescued October 4, 2011, four years old at time of rescue, background unknown.
Sophie tends to like to "dig" out a bed when she lays down. She does it on the carpet. We don't let her in our bed till bed time. We will say, "Sophie, mama's going to bed" and she will follow me in there. Once we are with her, if she tried to dig, we stopped her. She quit doing it on the bed or furniture. Still does it on the floor though. I was changing my sheets not long ago, and took time out to go to the bathroom.... when I came out, she had riddled the foam mattress pad we had on the bed!! She was standing in the middle of the bed, and shaking the thing back and forth as hard as she could!![]()

Maggie does that too, but not digging --she rearranges the bedding with her teeth, just like making a nest, and has made holes in several quilts. She does it more when we're not around, so for her it's a bit of a stress thing. No solution from me, I'm afraid.
Maxx tries to do this, it is how he destroys every stuffie that comes in the house! If he is told "leave it", it works but I am thinking you were asleep when this happened?
Life is short, play with your dogs!

Judy is my "nester". I solve the problem by giving her a big fluffy throw to nest. She fluffs it up under herself and lies on it.
