Dog travel by plane

Have any of you ever taken your labby on vacation by plane? If so, how did that work out for you?

i haven't but one of the adopters of my fosters just flew their dog. it was international so there were some extra hoops (lots of extra hoops)

There are few airlines that fly dogs, there are black out periods and I personally would never fly a dog for just a vacation, I would have to be going somewhere for at least a few months.
