Default Good thoughts for Seamus, please? :(

Seamus is 9 years 3 months. Never a sick or *off* day in his life. Until yesterday afternoon. And that's about all I can say... he was *off*. WAYYYY *off*.

He ate last night and he ate this morning. But this afternoon... he's not moving right. Not limping, not hanging his head, not... I don't know what. But it's NOT HIM. And he didn't want to retrieve. At ALL. I sailed the first two right his way, he watched them go past. Then he went to stand by the garage for a few seconds... just... standing there while I threw the ball for Flynn. Next he ambled over to my side, gave me a look, and I said "that's it for today".

We came in. He's kind of "air licking", not a lot, but a little. I've never seen him do this. Paddy was 9 years when he quit retrieving, but his spondylosis was so horribly advanced I'm amazed that good dog could even stand at that age. I don't think that's what's going on with Seamus... he is much fitter than Pad was at the same age. But SOMETHING is... off. Way off.

Let's just hope it's a dickey tummy and nothing more.

Dogs can feel crappy like the rest of us do. He may just not feel his best. It could be something he ate or just one of those things. Our Maggie had episodes like this once in awhile. She would just lay and act funny. By the next day, it was like it never happened. I would watch him for any other symptoms. If he isn't back to himself soon, I'd see the vet.

Hope he feels better. Do you have any Pepcid? Couple pills would help his tummy.

Awwwwww - hope he feels better soon. Emilu (8.5 years old) is now having an "off day" here and there. I think that it is her back bothering her - I can tell because she doesn't want to go up or down steps, and moves more carefullly
