Thanks for the heads up, Dani. I use Interceptor. May have to call my vet & get a six pack to have on hand.
I use the Interceptor Flavor Tabs too. If there is a question with "quality standards" do you think it is safe to continue using this product? I guess we won't be able to get it anyway shortly.....if not already.
Thanks for the info Dani.
Georgie......Did you read what they had to say on the links? I just glanced at it quickly and for human stuff it sounded like one issue (for instance) was caplet pills getting in with tablet pills.....not sure what else though. I would hope/think that if there was any possible danger with something that they would recall it.....not just stop production. I too wonder if this is the only facility that produces them and has there been any issue with the canine/feline products.??? It's the only one I've ever used (at my Vet's recommendation) and no problems with it to date.

I did read what the FDA inspector wrote. Yes, it was Excedrin tablets/gelcaps getting packaged wrong. I have been doing some research on heartgard. it is made by Merial. I am trying to compare the two. It seems it is two different ingredients.
I think we know what the Interceptor looks like. I did not see any dog/feline problems in the report. But it seems Novartis is stopping production of everything produced at the plant. I think I will talk to my vet. I hate switching when Interceptor has worked so well for my girls.
I don't think this is the only plant they make Interceptor or any of the other meds, but I imagine it will put a strain on the amount of pills in circulation for a bit.

It doesn't sound like this is a new issue they're having. I didn't read the whole thing, but with the human products it sounded like it went back at least a few years. I still have a number of the Interceptor Flavor tabs on hand and I know my vet is still selling them. No idea whether they all come from the same plant though.
oh great
