With few exceptions we visit the Bark Park every day. It has been raining all day. At 3:25 the ear flapping started. At 3:30 huffing and puffing were added to the orchestration. At 3:35 percussion the the form of Buddy standing on up on the arm of my chair tapping on my arm ended the concert. I got up and headed for the front door Labs right behind me. I did not stop to put on my coat. I opened the door. Buddy's nose got past the threshold just far enough to sense the rain and retracted. I heard the thud of the squeaky toy hit the living room floor and turned to see Jack sitting in the living room. he did not budge so i closed the door and went back to what i was doing. The silence was deafening.
About an hour later the concert began the second movement, "We still have not gone to the Bark Park oratorio. a choral piece with Jack woofing lead and Buddy snorting backup. It was a rousing piece. Jack and Buddy again followed me to the front door. Buddy's nose did not cross the threshold. It twitched, and gyrated and his ears moved as he processed the fact it was raining. He backed up. Jack pushed past him squeaky in his mouth and got as far as the the top step turned around and walked back into the house in one fluid movement like he was doing laps. They settled back down. It is now 5pm and I expect the last movement to begin soon, the Hey! Its time for Dinner! Lament, with vocals by Jack and Buddy on percussion and interpretative dance. Bingo! Right on cue.
I am laughing into a pillow ( don't want to wake up the puppies)..... I am dealing with the other side, standing outside in slippers and snowing.... Pups love it. Want to trade?

Nice story, Andy. I can just picture them. My two were not happy today either. We had freezing rain followed by snow. They ran out like the wild ones they are when they think they will be getting some bumpers. I heard their paws crunching on the frozen snow. They both stopped in their tracks. But unlike your two....mine aren't too smart about the weather. Abby ran up on the deck & grabbed a bumper out of the bucket & came & sat beside me. I wish I had taken a picture of the look on her face when I took it off her & put it back in the bucket. They did not like to hear "not today, girls."
So we had several unhappy labs today, thanks to the weather.

I can picture this!! Our Sophie loves to play in the rain. She came in all soaked and muddy a little while ago....

You should've seen Diesel earlier when we came in from fetching and playing. Just coated with snow! He sure had fun, though. But, it was pretty damn cold out. Deacon wanted back in after just a few minutes.
My Lab is smarter than your honor student.
