Really?! Not gonna let me sleep in, are you? *sigh* Dammit...
So, I was up kinda late last night. Actually, fell asleep in my recliner and went to bed around one or so. I'm thinking that since it's Saturday, and I don't have to work, and I'm not planning on going hunting or anything...I'm gonna sleep myself out. Not even gonna set the alarm. Yeah, right. About 5:30 Diesel starts pawing at me and whining. As soon as I talk to him, Deacon grunts himself up off his bed and his tail starts thumping the wall. I swear, I did my best to make everyone go back to bed. Not happening. So, I grunt myself up...suit up in boots and coat and take the boys outside to go potty. The cold woke me up pretty quick, so there's no going back to sleep now. I get a pot of coffee going, give them their morning treats and breakfast, then sit down to watch Northland Adventures on tv. So now, between the cold and the caffeine...I'm wide awake and sitting at the computer to see what's going on on the interweb. Maybe I can get a nap in later....if they cooperate, that is. Fat chance.

Ahhh nothing like rolling out of bed at the crack of dawn and immediately into the FREEZING outdoors so that your dogs can have a whiz. I feel your pain!
I feel so sorry for you not. I have gotten up at 5 +/- 10 mintues since I was a teenager. I call it genetic because that is what my Dad did. HK could care less. She just lays there enjoying her warm bed, no rush to get up. She knows my routine and does move until it is time for me to head for her feed. She knows when that is suposed to happen, and needs now clock or signal. Same thing for her evening feed. Doesn't matter what we are doing, she comes to get me. But not for potty breaks, she will hold it as long as necessary.

I hear you. During the week the alarm goes off at 5:30. That is their routine. On the weekends, if I get to sleep till 6, I'm happy. Nothing like two labs standing over you, breathing on your face to get you up. On 20 degree mornings when the snow if falling, I think it was worth every penny to put a fence up. I just open the door, coffee in hand, and let them out. I can watch them from the door.![]()
Tank is my alarm clock! He things five is the time to get up even if we didn't go to bed til Bentley LOVES his sleep and on school days I have to yell his name to get him going. It doesn't help that we have to walk down stairs in the morning![]()

stella is up at 4 a.m. on the dot. i leave to work at 5 so it gives me time to feed her and play with her a bit. but it really sucks on the weekend when i dont work.
Yeah, it's the same here. On weekdays my alarm goes off at 5, so now they think that's when we get up all the time. This morning it was "Dad...Dad...DAD!!! Wake up! I wanna go out! And I'm hungry! And I gotta go! And I wanna play! So, wake the hell up!!!"
Actually turned out to be not too bad of a day. After sitting in front of the computer checking things out for a while, I made a big bacon and eggs breakfast. Did a couple things around the house. I actually did manage to get a nap in, since they decided that wasn't a bad idea as well. Then got a few more things done and took the youngster outside to run and play in the snow for a bit.

All the dogs get up when the alarm goes off at 5:30 during the week, but I've managed to get Laci and the beagles to sleep in on the weekends until 8 or 8:30. It's so nice cause I hate getting up at 5:30; I'm getting old I need my beauty sleep![]()
The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!
