Along with her bone cancer she has HD in both hips, and we have been astonished how well her right leg has held up under the effort of supporting her. We have been going to the park every weekend, she is insistant- as in running down the driveway to the car and waiting with a huge grin on her face!
This Sunday she was excited to go but did not want to walk so we chilled out with the other dogs and then walked for a little bit and went back to the car. She was not tired or out of sorts the rest of the day or on Monday. Yesterday morning she was not getting around like she usually does, lay down on her bed to eat, drink, take her meds and get her treat. She got up on the couch and went to sleep as I left for work.
Last night she couldn't walk, she is using her right foot to scoot herself along, she doesn't like us to help her by using a towel under her belly. She is eating and drinking, she is quite alert, watching me like a hawk as I move around. I took a personal day to be with her because my MIL wouldn't be able to help her if she decided to move.
She has been reluctant to do stairs for about a month now, she will come up into the kitchen then go straight down. Last Friday she came up and spent the day on the living room couch! We live in a split level so only has a half flight of stairs to use. Last time I thought she was done she proved me wrong, this time? I don't know.
She is snoring her head off right now, which is about right for this time of the morning![]()
Aw, prayers for you and Fanny. Sweet old girl. She'll let you know, won't she? I'd keep my hopes up as long as she's eating, drinking and can go potty.
God bless Fanny! She is trying so hard! Nuzzle her for Paddysmom, won't you?![]()
