It's quite possible it is just a baby tooth that broke off to allow for the adult teeth to come in. I believe they start to come in around 4 months old, the age of your pup. That was the case with my dog. Others here have more puppy experience to weigh in. BUT it wouldn't hurt to at least call your vet to see what they say.

I would go to the vet.
If the pulp is showing it is painful to them.

I would run it by the vet, but at 4 months, it's most likely still a baby tooth (canines are one of the LAST adult teeth to come in). I don't know how painful baby teeth can be when damaged, they don't have full roots and they are gearing up to fall out at 4 months.

Puppies lose their baby teeth at about that age. Have you noticed any falling out? I would call the vet, it could really hurt. The vet can pop it right out. Your baby might not be able to eat with it like that.

How did the tooth break? You're not giving bones at this age, are you?
