Default I passed the torch tonight *choke* ( 1 pic)

Paddy's Red Bed. The sweatshirt material stuff his blankie was made of. Paddy loved that blankie. I used to lay it across the top of the bed for him. He would never go onto Red Bed unless it was totally smooooooth. But he loved that stadium blanket. LOVED it! I always obliged that good dog, always. Smooooooooth it will be, PadMan!

When Pad went his heavenly way, I put all of his things away. Stored the Red Bed, his bowl, his collar, his tags... all of it. Noone would ever touch them again.

But tonight? Tonight? Sometimes a spirit moves you, sometimes it is your heart, sometimes it is your intellect... but you know when the moment is right.

Seamus has been wanting "under blankies" recently while we do our evening TV watching. It is FRIGID tonight and something told me.... do it, do it now.

I went to the bin, got the Red Bed out. Oooooo.... wash it first or just throw it over him??? I just threw it over him. He did an enormous *SIGH*, settled, (until I fussed with the camera) and here we are:

Aw. That's so sweet! I bet he has warm memories of his bud Paddy while he's cozy under the Red Bed.

Aw Nancy, that is so sweet. I'm glad you didn't wash it. Seamus can probably smell Paddy and it might be comforting to him.

It's as if Pads is hugging Shea. And there's something just absolutely 'right' about that, even if the sight of it is making me swipe my eyes with a tissue.

Rest well PadMan. And enjoy the hug, Shea.
