It looks like the meds are doing the trick. Dr said if these meds didn't work they recommended surgery. The hematoma is noticeably smaller in reach ear. Nothing like as big as yesterday and he shakes his head only occasionally and even then it is only a half hearted shake. I have been checking the redness too and it is much improved from yesterday and his ears seem like they are getting their normal shape back because they were sticking out from the swelling. So from what I can see he is improving very fast. I'll know more when I take him in for his follow up on Monday. I hope we can avoid the surgery thing but if we have to I am gonna have it done ASAP.
Gotta say he has been a trooper thru it all. And I can tell by his actions he is completely trusting in me on this.
I just put a new thread here and thanks for all the kind words and healing thoughts! I'll keep you guys posted on how he's doing!
That is wonderful news, Guy. I am glad Barney is doing better. Continued good thoughts for him.
Great news!

If it's improving so quickly, I wouldn't worry about the surgery. When Darby had hers, the doctor said you had to do the surgery early if you wanted to avoid the crumpled up ear, but that if you didn't care about that, then it could take a few weeks for everything to reabsorb.
I didn't want to risk a general anesthetic to avoid what was really going to be just a cosmetic issue. I think it kind of gives her character.
