Ok, it's been YEARS since I have had a puppy. Finn is AWESOME. He's had ONE peepee and one poopy accident and that is all (and both were MY fault!) He goes outside to do his business, comes when called and in 36 hours he was sitting on command!! If he has to go and I'm not paying attention, he goes on his papers!!
Now, he is approx 12 weeks. How much exercise should he be getting outside? I take him when I feed, which is about a 45 minute walk with lots of stops. Walk about 50 yards to the stallion barn, he waits while I feed (10 minutes) Walk to the foal barn, 70 yards and 15 minute wait. Walk to the gelding barn, 15 yards, 10 minute wait. Walk to the mare field, he does NOT come in with me until they are all fed and I call him then walk back to the car, about 100 yards. All flat.
He walks either beside or behind me, sometimes gamboling, mostly just walking. If I stop for a while, he flops down and waits. (I think he's channeling Forrest- who did the EXACT same thing)
I don't want to hurt him, is this too much? But I don't want him totally wired at bedtime, either!

He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his leader, his love. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion. Unknown
I cant get over of how cute he is! I think it is 5 or ten minutes with each month.

Given all the starts and stops that seems quite reasonable to me. A solid 45 minute walk would not be OK but what you describe seems fine.
Sharon - still not a dude.
He is a good boy! Comes when called? Yippee! It sounds like he is able to relax and rest often during his walks with you. What a cutie he is!

Sounds like Finn is adjusting just fine. He is adorable, Lucy.
Sounds perfect for a puppy - going around with your while you do chores is just what all lab would love to do - I think it is very natural for them. I'm glad he is doing to well, and he sure is CUTE!
