We didn't hunt yesterday. It's been pretty slow with the extraordinarily warm temps here for January, and zero winds in the morning. Rusty bugged me all yesterday morning and it wasn't until we had lunch that he finally reconciled himself to not hunting for the day.
You can imaging his exuberance this morning when he saw me putting on my camo sweats, and my face "make-up". He was sproinging all over the house and almost couldn't stand still long enough in the garage for me to get his e-collar and vest on without being scolded.
A beautiful sunrise greeted us at our wetlands. We didn't have to wait more than a few minutes before a single Ring Neck Duck came whizzing by and was splashed. Here's Rusty on his way out for the retrieve in this pic ...
An hour later he was posing with a most pensive expression ... "are we really quitting so soon? We only got three and it's just been an hour!"
Yep Rusty ... we have to get back home because Cappy and Remi want to "hunt" also. Remember, they rely on you every day to get ducks for them to "retrieve" too.
"Yeah, you're right, Dad. And thanks for taking me this morning!"

Very nice. That is unless you are the duck. What breed is Cappy. He is very cute.
