Default Why do I buy all those $10 toys???

I keep asking myself why I buy all those $10 plus toys, when Sophie would rather play with an empty plastic milk jug or water bottle!! We take off the lid and ring and let her go for it! She will eye them in the trash, so we just give in and let her have it!

Because we love our dogs and we have them for such a short time, every day should be like Christmas, lol. Oh and the other reason, we are suckers for our babies!

I remember when my kids were little, I'd spend a fortune on toys at Christmas and they'd rather play with the empty cardboard boxes!

So true, the boxes and wrapping paper were always more interesting! I guess it just makes us feel better and since my kids are grown and out of the house I have to "spoil" someone!!

Same here, Tammy! Except I always have one or more of my boys around on the weekends. I have 3 sons, 32, 25, and 23....

There is usually one at home on the weekends here too! I have 2 living sons and 1 daughter. Oldest son is 30, daughter 23 and youngest is 21 and in med school at Thomas Jefferson. I lost my 2nd oldest son at 18 when he and 3 freinds were killed by a drunk driver in 2001. He lives on in all our hearts...and I celebrate the wonderful ones that are still with me everyday.

Tammy, I am so sorry for your loss. We aren't supposed to out live our children. A drunk driver is so senseless! My oldest son is going to make me a grandma around the 1st of May. It will be my first! My middle son is a special ed teacher. My baby boy is a student in college in Eugene Oregon. Med school! Wow! That takes dedication! I see you are from PA...I have cousins in Jermyn...

Thank you Pam, you are right we are not supposed to bury our children. It was a dark depressing 2 years of my life in the beginning, marriage ended, (now happily remarried!), and after much therapy and work with MADD I began to heal. On the advice of my wonderful therapist I got Ozzy, one of the many reasons his untimely death hit all of us so very hard. Maxx has been a God send in many ways. I appreciate your kind words.

Not sure wher Jermyn is. Your kids sound awesome! I can't wait to hear the "grandma" news! Lucky you!
