Default ideal weight for a 5 1/2 month old lab

I have a quick question. We took Dio to be neutered yesterday adn I am surprised by how much he weighs! He weighs 29-30 kg. He is slim and trim, but it seems way heavy for him! Does it seem ok to have a pup that weighs that much and isn't even close to being a year old?

I generally never tell anyone that there is an ideal "weight." I'm more of a fan of the body condition score, which I'm sure you can look up and find the scale.

Pretty much, you just want to make sure that you can easily feel their ribs with a little bit of fat layering there, but not much. Make sure that they have a slight waist when you look from above.. things of that sort. Each dog is different and even within a breed there is a lot of variance, so it's hard to give an exact number.

Ok. He's in great shape, has an hourglass figure to die for! Guess he's just a big dog.

Ok, I'm dumb. Someone please educate me...what does 29-30 Kg translate to in lbs??? lol
Java weighed 55 lbs at 5 months..she was a big girl, but not overweight or fat. She weighed almost 17lbs at 8 weeks, 34 lbs at 3 months. She's 10 months now and 70+ lbs. Not sure of her exact weight.

On the other hand, Moka weighed only 11 lbs at 8 weeks. At 3 months she weighs about 20-22 lbs. So she's alot smaller than Java even though they are from the same lines.
As long as Dio is happy, healthy, active and fit he's fine!!

With kgs you multiply it by 2.2 if I'm not mistaken, then you get pounds. So 30 kgs would be 66lbs

As other have said there is no ideal wt. just an ideal body shape! Sammi is 3 1/2- and weighs 62lbs., both mom and dad were around the same.
