Yesterday Dozer has his yearly check-up and vaccines. The vet said "it's so nice to see a lab in good body condition, he's perfect" ... because, as he went on to explain, most labs he sees (which is true for the ones I see too) are sofas with tails. Dozer is 81 pounds of pure awesomeness. LOL He has a yeast infection in his left ear ... he always gets it in only his left ear (every spring) which makes us think it never fully went away, but the yeast sits dormant until given the right conditions (swimming, warm weather) to flare up again. He's on a different type of medication for it. Hopefully it takes care of it permanently. We went to a different vet this year. I took Dozer to the clinic my sister works at. They are so nice there, I'm making a permanent switch. My old vets were great too, but the clinic has changed hands so many times and even though the vets were the same (for the most part) when policies change it gets confusing.

Hope the yeast infection goes away. If I was you I would of changed to. Our vet that we go to has not changed many policies but you are no longer allowed to have your cat on a leash but they have to be in a carrier. There was a big insident that happened when a big coonhound say a little cat.

We use monistat 7 cream for the yeast infections. Antibiotics didnt seem to do the trick with Jobe. So, I put a little on a Qtip and put it in his ears and Ta Daaaaa its much better. Plus if it is a little red and itchy, it settles it so it doesnt bother him as much.
Mom to Indy 6/12/98 to 11/16/11 (always in my heart), and Jobe (Working TDI) English Labs, and Annie our Golden Retriever (TDI), and Kodiak (who will one day hopefully be a TDI dog if he doesn't kill me first).
Awesome! He is a handsome boy! Hope the ear infection clears!!!!!!
Jen and the crew!
LOL doncha love that!? That's always the first thing we get when we bring Baloo to a new vet or they start new staff. "OMG, look how fit that lab is!"
Depending on my mood it makes me proud or frustrated (that a fit lab is that much of a notable occurence). :P
