Do you trust your dog?

Brooklyn will always be on leash. I have really poor recall with her. So many people over the years have pulled over to say hi to her she has no concept that trucks and cars can hurt her.

Remy I have a better recall with, but nope. Don't trust him either. I have a fenced in yard and they are only out there supervised. He has dug through the fence twice.

I would rather be safe than sorry.

I trust Rhys off leash when we're walking, he's proven himself very reliable...IF he knows where we're at. If I'm walking down the street, he doesn't need a leash. Ever. And I rarely put one on him. If we're out and about, he gets leashed.

Ruby, same deal. I trust her around places we frequent (ie. between the parking lot and dog park, friends houses, the front lawn) but I won't put her out without a leash somewhere unfamiliar...

My dogs are very well trained and have a great recall, but often I don't trust myself. And, I'm not stupid.
