On the socialization dilemma, IIRC Dr. Patricia McConnell suggests fudging that slightly after the next to last shot and in particular, less risky situations. I can't find my copy of "The Other End of the Leash" but if you have a copy, look it up, or go to your local public library (or bookstore) and scan that paragraph.

Hello from Hudson Valley NY. Welcome aboard! Beautiful Puppy! Not sure how to train to go on the pavement. I have one that does, but he trained himself. Doesn't like to get his feet wet, so he elects to use the driveway. Best of Luck to you.
