    Default champagne Labs

I just have a question im always looking at all the diffrent lab websites and diffrent breeders for labs just cause I love them so much and I would have 100 if I could. I have seen all the colors I thought yellow, black, Chocolate, Silver and now champagne color I just wanted to know what makes this color and how do you tell the diffrence between them and the yellow.

There are only 3 colors: Black, Yellow, and Chocolate. The others: White, Champagne, Silver, Charcoal, etc. are just gimicks that crappy breeders charge more for. There are either other breeds bred in to alter the color or they just give fancy names to things that happen normally. I looked at Champagne puppies on a couple of sites, and one one site they called the dark yellows champagne. On the other they called the Dudleys champagne.

What Debi said. Any website that uses these fancy names (fox red is a true color and not a fancy name), should throw up a red flag in your mind. Reputable breeders might say a dog/puppy is a light yellow or a medium yellow or a dark yellow. They're not going to call them white, champagne or buttery or anything else like that.

Hey! You guys left out the Ivory Labs!

Neighbor bought one. Thought having a white lab would be neat. Well, the pup at 10 weeks was white enough, but at 6 months she is a yellow lab and not a particularly light yellow at that.

Now, Hunter who has been missing here for several months now, is a WHITE lab. He was the lightest colored in the litter, and is as close as you can get to pure white except for minor yellow color on his ears. Okay, he is a yellow lab that is probably a natural platinum blond.

Thank you everyone I thought it was funny also I just got done telling my husband that I felt that is how breeders start messing up the breed by trying to get all these colors out of them. I like I always say dont fix something that is not broke.

Fanny is very pale, has been from day one. But she is still a yellow lab.

I just heard from a friend of someone selling "silver labs" for $1500 a piece - sold all of last years litter and is expecting another litter now with people lined up out the door!
