Default The "Chin-Rest-Stare" ... does your dog do it?

Lately Remy has perfected what I call the Chin-Rest-Stare or CRS for short. He'll put his chin on the table, arm of the chair, your leg...whatever...and just stare mournfully into your eyes. It KILLS me. It usually means he's bored and it looking at you for something, ANYTHING, to do or eat or whatever. I can usually only bear it for a couple of minutes before getting up and finding him something.

I have noticed a correlation between the new CRS and the lack of big sister harrassment. Not a lot of bitey face in the evenings in the house now. Now he's passive manipulating his hoomans? Sigh...good thing he's cute.

Oh, and Brooklyn never does this. She'll come sit right in front of you and stare at you, but she doesn't CRS. But of course, she blocks the tv. LOL

Yes Sadie does that, she also walks up to our bed and puts her chin on it. Her way of asking to get upon the bed

    They crack me up!!

Seamus and Flynn do this. My favorite is when one plants their chin on the back of the other one. It's just cute.

Usually, that's what Jes does, too (couch, bed, etc.). But sometimes he'll do the "chin-rest stare" whenever he brings over a toy, and it's his way of asking to play, like Remy.

And then there's the spoiled part of it, when he's just shamelessly begging for an ear scratch.

    haha! So cute.

Crash did the chin-rest-stare. He did it so much we even put it on command - the words were "Put your head down." He would rest his head on your leg or the couch. Then when you tried to pet him, he would jerk his head away. So, we'd start all over.

OMG - Emilu is the QUEEN of the CRS - she puts her chin on my knee, scrunches her body down and tries to WILL the food that I have into her mouth! Or even better, she squeezes her face between my leg and the corner of the couch and gazes up at me so pleadingly - again for any food that I have. She only does this for food - if she wants out, or is bored, she sits and little further away and cuts through me with her unflinching stare until I HAVE to get up and let her out.
