This question came up on my gardening forum. Someone's Akita is peeing on her new tree. Well, not even peeing on the tree...just on the mulch around the tree. Sounds like a non-issue to me. Anywho...
She wants to know if there is a product that will deter this.
I don't know of anything to tell her, other than training a specific potty place on leash. Anyone?
Never used it but found this........ Dog Repellent from Bio-Defend Animal Repellents and Natural Pest Control I had trouble with a cat sleeping in one of my plants. I went to one of the big box stores & they had a spray for this. It worked great. She might just try looking there...I would have to respray after a rain.

You can get a motion activated sprinkler head - so he gets sprinkled before he can tinkle (I just could not resist).
really is not a big deal in my opinion. Trees are much tougher than dog pee.

Yes -- water. Dog pee is rich in nitrogen so it's a good fertilizer when diluted. See the link below:Dogs peeing on shrubs - is there a product for this?
