We Got Ticks Already

I can't believe it because we actually did have a good freeze this winter but two days ago I saw a spot on Dukes face that turned out to be a tiny tick. This morning we discovered three more on the sheet in the chair where he sleeps and Dukesmom picked off one near his eye. Freckles probably has them too but it's much harder to find them in the thick long fur.
Last year I had an exterminator treat the yard three times and the house twice. Does anyone know a product I can apply to my yard? I want to get control before the house gets infested again?
I still think we are having this problem in the city because we very effectively eliminated fire ants. They are a natural control for both ticks and flea larva.

Wow, John. I'm surprised, I thought the cold would have done a number on their populations. We were out at Bear Creek Sunday morning, and even though I check them after park romps, I was a bit lax this week. I'm adding a thorough examination to this evening's chores!

His fur is so thick, long, and dense I have a hard time finding his skin.
