Default QUESTION ON HOW TO GET SEDONA TO LEARN TO PLAY CORRECTLY WITH KEEGAN

Just need some pointers on how to get Sedona to correctly play with Keegan. It has only been 24 hours since we brought Keegan home and Sedona just wants to be right beside her hovering over her all the time. She isn't hurting her, but likes to poke or nudge her pretty hard with her nose. After a bit of this Keegan lets her have it and she certainly can let her bark and self be heard. She even nipped Sedona last night and caused her to yelp which put her in her place and up on the couch. I have them separated right now and am being patient. Yes Sedona is getting a lot of attention as she is my heart dog. Keegan also has to have her one on one attention and play with me so separation time. I know I need to teach Sedona the correct way to play so any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

Isn't it great to have a sister

No you don't, they will work it out themselves, believe me. They're just getting to know eachother right now.

Let them play together. Sedona will teach Keegan and Keegan will teach Sedona. They will be fine.

Yep pretty much have to let them work it out themselves...when Luke and Josie were little I was concerned about how rough they were with each other..I was afraid one was going to get hurt...the vet said let them work it out...keeping them separated would only make it worse later....they did work it out and everyone gets along great! It may take a little while but they should figure out their places.

No, you don't have to teach Sedona and Keegan to play together correctly. Sedona will teach Keegan how to play correctly. I had this same concern when we brought Moka home at 8 weeks. Java was 9 months old and I thought she was going to kill Moka. But, the vet said to supervise them but to allow them to play. Java would teach Moka how to be a puppy and how to play. She would show Moka what the boundaries were...and she did.
Supervise them, but let them play. They will work out their own arrangements for what is acceptable play.
