Default Anyone ever try to detox?

I'm considering trying this, not so much for weightloss (although I'll be happy to lose the bloat), but because I have been feeling sluggish and yucky and bloated for awhile now, and I know its because I've been eating very poorly and not exercising. Something like this would kick-start my health, and it would be nice going into the holidays as I think it would then make me more mindful of choices afterwards...

I haven't but I know several people who have. Mostly I've heard of just drinking white grape juice for 24 hours.

    Stay near a bathroom.

Yeah, this one sounds more sensible then others I've heard of for sure! Its not just a straight juice fast, there is a healthy diet component as well.

But yes, on day 8 I would stay close to home.

I should do this too, never heard of anyone around me trying it, but sounds like it's something I should do.

Jo, John and I did a 3 day juice cleanse about a month ago. It went well, though I'll say that he spent more time in the bathroom then I did, but we both felt really good doing it, and coming out of it. We even bought a nice juicer and we still juice daily, that's how much we liked it.

    Glad to hear it Karina!

Regina - I will let you know how this plan goes. It sounds like its the slow & steady route, which drags it out but maybe makes it simpler to stick to? Not sure, have to try it to see!

I want to try to cleanse but I want to wait till Christmas break. I can't imagine spending more time in the bathroom than I already do at work. I drink lots of water during the day so I'm constantly running to the bathroom on my breaks. I have a juicer and I love it!!

Alright - I'm on day 2 of the detox diet and I would kill for a coffee and some toast, lol!

This plan has the juice cleanse for 1 day, but before that you are to "prep" your body for 7 days by eating certain liver and colon friendly foods and avoiding all the bad stuff... and then after the 1-day juice diet you do a 3-day follow up that is the same as the first part but you add in yogurt for the good bacteria.

The funny thing is, it says to follow your regular diet just add certain things and don't eat certain things - well, I eat enough bad stuff that its totally changed how I'm eating!!

I wanted to get this over with before all the Christmas parties really started, I have a 2-week lull that I could squeeze it into, but it is hard! Things like not finishing Ben's grilled cheese are killing me, ha!

I also made this soup over the weekend that should have been tasty, but it soooo wasn't. I dumped a load of chili powder into it last night so I hope that helps since I think I'll be eating it all week, ha!
