No beer, cigarettes, sweets, KFC, or pizzaSpending my free time doing situps, pushups, running, and lifting weights. Geesh, the only missing is the bars on my windows and prison sex

Thanks, Regina. I got married in 1967 and that's when I first started putting weight on. I bought some weights and started working out every day for two-four hours. By 1970 I had a body that turned heads,(really)! My friends said I should try out for the Mr Universe contest. I entered the Mr Illinois contest but couldn't even finish first in the Mr East Chicago contest, I was 2nd runner up. I got discouraged, put the weights away and never touched them again, until last week. Over the years the muscle turned to fat :'( I don't just want to lose weight now, I want my killer body back that I had 38 years ago.
Awww, Gene...don't you worry at all about getting a killer body...I used to worry about having one too because of what I saw on TV, magazine, and once had a great body too, now I want to live a healthy life for my kids, I care more about living a healthy life and not having a heart attack or a stroke because that's where I'm headed if I don't get myself under control. I know what you mean that you want a killer body, we all do, but I think since I've had my kids and I'm getting older 33 not 20 anymore I know that our bodies changed and that's okay...as I eat better and walk more my body will change for the better and so will my confidence, if I were you I would do what you can to get to a healthy weight and working out make your muscles harder, that's great too, don't get down my friend...I see it a lot that people want "the perfect looking body" it should be more of a healthy body, you're doing great, you're a handsome man! I know you're determined and that's awesome (seriously)!!! Share some of that with me tooOriginally Posted by Gene

Yeah but don't tell us you don't feel a zillion percent better for it. Just giving up the booze & smokes is almost guaranteed to buy you a good 10 - 20 years more with your family than if you'd stayed on the same path. Hopefully, you'll find the strength to make it permanent.Originally Posted by Gene
I haven't read your whole history on this so you might have mentioned it already, but it also sounds like you're a prime candidate for type 2 diabetes. If you don't stick with the changes & you've got enough to deal with already, that could well be your next battle (if it's not already).
Now go kick his ar$e Regina!.![]()

Hey, I'm giving support to Gene, I don't kick butt in this section...Gene's doing awesome, I need some support too and need him to actually kick my butt![]()
You lost 10 pounds in one week??!? That's pretty extreme for 7 days but congratulations on seeing the progress so soon! Don't burn yourself out, take it slowly because you don't want to injure yourself and then be set back weeks being unable to exercise and reversing all the good work you've done.
