As you all know I lost a huge amount of weight. I use to excerise 4-5 times a week and was a huge success. Until I got a full time job-- I'm unfit and well I put on some weight. I am SOOOO fed up and I'm going ot turn it around. I just can't decided how to do it. I know I need regular weigh in
Jenny Craig worked for me before cause it wa easy to follow Down fall I don't have the $$$$$ and I found when I went off there food they SUCKED
So my other thought is to join Weight Watchers. I found before when I tried it the people there SUCKED. I know this was a few years ago - so hopefully they changed/.
I just can't decided- go to Jenny that I know works or go to Weight watchers because i think it will help me keep it off ( but don't know as I haven't done it)
South Beach Diet cost me a whopping investment of $12 or so for the paperback edition of the book.
And 65lbs later, it remains one of the best investments of my life.
i never joined a weightloss program. i committed to losing weight, bought a scale($14.99 i think) and ate lean cuisine, healthy choice or smart one meals to learn portion control. i bought whatever meals were on sale. i was able to transition to regular food very easily once i learned portion control. and seeing the results made me want to keep working at it. it was the best motivation ever. down 160+lbs(and keeping it off) and i'll never look back.
i wouldn't say those meals are the healthiest because of the sodium content(but i don't think any of the prepackaged meals really are), but they did teach me portion control. my appetite adjusted to the amount of food in the meals. since i wasn't forbidden anything it was very easy to transition to regular(and healthier) meals. i also hate using the microwave. i only use it to heat coffee and sometimes reheat food. i'm absolutely positive i will wake up with an extra eye or limb one day from microwave use. :ugly:
Ditto!!!!! I've lost 15 since July 1st! With NO exercise!!! It's just coming off so easily that I'll save the exercise for the inevitable plateau!Originally Posted by dweck
Basically you did Jenny Craig. It worked for me until I started working 80 hours a week and was so tired I didn't know if I was coming or goingOriginally Posted by Jinx
I think because of that I lost the portion control part. I eat very healthy with the exception of the 4pm muniches. I think with me I need to weigh in some where- I need the being accountable the reason I think about not doing JC is because like you the thought of a mirco wave meal now makes me gag
I also think the support group of being around others will be good for me-- I can share my experience of losing a huge amount of weight- which I hope in the long run will help me. See then I think ok I'm doing W.W. The I start thinking hmm JC quick, eas, brainless LOL
sigh.
Are you going to WW or JC just to have someone make you responsible for your weigh in? I think work outs are key. You have to work out and you need to eat healthy. If you have someone that you are checking into about weight it's great, but that only gets you so far. It's packing healthy snacks even though your on the run. I bought the Biggest Loser book and one of the best ideas was to take a baggie and fill it full of lettuce and veggies, pack a little dressing to pour on and a fork. You can eat it anywhere. Things like this will make you successful w/ keeping it off.
I'm one of those people who can't deny myself or else i'm going to splurge. Well let me say one thing I have denied myself is soda, I will not drink soda. Everything else is allowed w/ me but portion control.

I fully agree with you that workout play a huge part which is why I believe I gained what I gained back-- I wnet from working out 4-5 times a week to not. and the stress of a complete change around in schedule. From going to bed every night at 1230a to now geting up at 4:20 am and working full time for the first time in my life. I think it's more for the support that I want to go to JC or WW- my hubby is a tooth pick and I don't really have a close friends that I can turn to to support me through the rough days. Most people when I was losing the first time (150 pounds) always gave me a hard time because I wouldn't put anything bad in my mouth unless I had prepalaned for it. I know I have the mind site to do it on my own- I wanted to get back into check and to have the support in hand, which i found key when I lost a huge amount. I know I can do it. Hell Ilost 130 pounds in one year - with a loss every week- no stay the sames or gains. I remember my stand still- I was so shock and that's when I realize JC was useless for anything else other then selling their foodOriginally Posted by Wendy
Sounds like if you need support that is the way to go. I fell off the wagon hard today!!! It was okay though, I always plan for little breaks in my healthy eating. I came back w/ an ice cream cone and dh about fell over. I ate every bite, it tasted soooooo good!!!![]()
