I finally bought that scale

and I think I need to take it back it can't possibly be right!! Last night I sat the family down, EVERYONE, and said "listen we have to do something different". So we all talked about changes we could make, one of them is cutting out soda. We made a deal w/ the kids, try our new way and keep each other in check and in a month whoever is still sticking with the plan gets $50. The kids are stoked, I think this will be harder for me than them. I figure what I will save in fast food and soda I can pay the kids that. We also agreed to do 15 minutes on the elliptical machine every day, I am of course doing more, but I don't want the kids to do too much. We have our goals on the refrigerator along with our weight.

Jon saw my weight and said "Wow mom that's alot!". I'm going to post here, public board and holding myself accountable and all. Oh my gosh I can't believe I'm doing this but I'm 5'9 and weigh 245, even a guy my height shouldn't weigh this much. I can't believe I just posted my freaking weight on a public board but I did. Hi my name is Wendy and I'm a fat ass, but I won't be for long!

Good for you and good for your family! Sorry you were so surprised by the scale, but you have made the choice to do something about it. Just remember - there is no quick fix...it is a committment to a change in lifestyle. Congratulations on getting everyone involved!
