Default back in the saddle ... again

I am so tired of being fat and out of shape. Going with Laura to help with the horses when the farrier comes has given me the bug to ride again. Right now, I could not heave this bulk up onto a horse's back without the use of a crane. I have to lose weight and shape up. I plan to be in good shape to ride next summer.

So, I am back to eating several small meals, cutting down on the sugar and chocolate, and using my Wii Fit every day that I am not out doing the yard sale or off somewhere getting some sort of exercise. When I got on it yesterday, it had been 151 days since I last used it. But, I was also down 8 pounds since then, so that made me happy.

This would be so much easier if I were single and could buy only what I should have to eat! Bill is a 'snacky' person, he munches on crap all day long; he 'needs' (read that as insists on) a big, meat and potatoes dinner every night. I do better with a very small dinner, sometimes just cereal. I can't do that when I am fixing a full meal for him, so I just have smaller portions. Maybe, when Bill sees me losing weight and getting healthier, he will start eating the way I do and get some exercise, too.

Oh Lord, how I wish there was a magic pill to lose weight and get in shape!

I hear you about the magic pill, but alas...

Good luck and remember its baby steps...baby steps.

I'm lucky in that my hubby just had to go buy all new pants cuz he can't fit into his other ones so he is right on board with me on the new diet/exercise regime. Hope your hubby joins you too. It is much easier when you have a partner.

Thanks! Bill just slides the waistband under his belly. That is why I hope he will get on board when he sees results. It worked when I did Atkins, so maybe it will help this time, too.

I hear ya Jackie. Use a salad plate to put your dinner on. Research shows people eat less if their plate is smaller.

Only if you don't fill it up twice

I am on the same bandwagon...I started Weight Watchers in January and finally gave up last month...I paid every month, but couldn't stick to it...ironically, I quit and NOW I am back at the gym and counting my points...I decided instead of paying $40/month for WW, every 5 pounds I lose I am treating myself to a manicure/pedicure...that seems to be motivating me...we will see how long it lasts! I would like to lose about 35-50 pounds (that would put me back to college weight)...I would be "satisfied" if I lose 25 - that would be "respectable"...I have lost 6..LOOOOONG way to go....
