What plan are you on? And how long has it been? Some take a while to 'kick in.'
And remember that if you're also exercising, you may be losing fat and exchanging it for muscle, which won't reveal itself as a net loss on the scale but which will make you healthier and looking fine!!!
Dan's right. At my absolute height of physical fitness (riding horses for at least 2 hrs everyday, cleaning stalls, stacking hay, etc) I was the same weight I am right now, but waaaaaay skinnier. But I was never really skinny, I was ripped.Originally Posted by dweck
I do feel your pain with the scale, though. That's part of the reason I really don't weigh myself anymore. The last time I weighed myself with any regularity was when I was pregnant, and even that was depressing. I knew that I was supposed to be gaining weight, but that didn't make it any easier to see those numbers go up, and up, and up...

Plan? That's my problem...I have tried and failed at a few because I never stick to any of them!!
I tried the South Beach for about a month. I have limited my sugar intake, fried foods and have been eating salad with low fat dressing for lunch. I walk after work about 2 miles.
I just can't stick with anything it seems so that is my problem! I am also having hormonal issues![]()

Success breeds success. Take it one day at a time: Decide THAT MORNING that TODAY is the day you're going to be thinner.
Celebrate each milestone. Each pound lost. Each size you shrink. Each walk that you can up the pace and still not get winded.
Try this site: www.thedailyplate.com. It's free. And it helps you keep a food/exercise diary that can really provide some willpower, especially when you look at the graphs over time.
I read this in a magazine and it has helped me.
Your car's navigation system only asks for 2 points; where you are now and where you want to be. It doesn't say, "Yesterday we messed up and arrived late." The same goes for fitness. Every day is a chance to ask yourself, where am I? And where do I want to be? Let go of everything else.

Best advice I ever got was:
1 Eat from the food pyramid and watch the portions.
2 walk a little farther, walk a little faster and pretend your couch has fleas.
3 Throw away the scale and don't look at yourself in a full length mirror for 3 months. It's too easy to give up when you don't see results.
4 The weight didn't come on overnight and it won't come off overnight either
I've lost 15 lbs in a little over two months without any real adjustment to my lifestyle. It's not a huge amount of weight but I'm not miserable.
Everyone gave really good advice, I'm the same as you, plus the hormonal problems![]()
Do you know your target heart rate for aerobic activity?
Walking is great exercise, but if you're not walking briskly enough, you may not be raising your heart rate to your target rate.
