I had my 6 month checkup and was a little disappointed. Dr. said I have lost 30 pounds from the highest weight recorded. My blood work and blood pressure are fantastic. So I ask if I can stop my cholesterol and blood pressure meds. He said NO. He said from my history and reviewing the past couple of years of numbers and my weight, he feels my cholesterol would go right back up. My body just makes it and diet alone won't work. Bummer. As for the blood pressure he said it is ideal now and I could try and go off it but would need to keep coming in to have it checked. He said to stay on it and if I start to have feelings of light headiness then he may reconsider. One of my goals for this weight loss was to get off these two pills.

I am sorry. Congrats on the weight loss though!

You're doing great! Keep up the good work. Maybe if your cholesterol and LDL/HDL ratio stay at ideal levels for a long period of time, the doc might reconsider. As far as the BP meds, just make sure that if you do discontinue them, taper them gradually under your doctor's supervision.
