I'm going to the gym tomorrow, first time since I started nursing school in fall of '06. Time to shed those nursing school pounds! I loaded up a workout playlist on my palm, fished my workout clothes out of the bottom of my drawer, and made a date to meet a friend! I weighed myself on the hospital scale the other night, fully clothed. 56kg (123lb.). That's a gain of nearly fifteen pounds. I'm looking to lose it. 8)
And NO, I do not have an eating disorder or body image problem! I am barely 5'2" and have a tiny frame. All of my weight is abdominal, which is the unhealthiest kind. My grandmother had coronary artery disease and my mother has high cholesterol. My systolic BP is normally in the low 100s, but when I took my BP the other day, it was 122 systolic. I'm pushing 40 and I want to be around a lot longer to enjoy my life!
So there.
I went. I saw. I worked out. 8)
My friend was a no-show though, and it was her idea to meet there!
I had a nice time anyway. Just a little substernal pressure, but overall, it was just like old times.
