I'm doing the Laurie diet. 8)
Its a little bit of stuff I've learned from other diets. South Beach, Atkins, WW. Basically I'm eatting very few carbs for now, low fat, got rid of junk food in house, and only shopped for healthy food. I think also the key is excersise. I'm alternating with aerobics one day (fast walking) and strength training the next (going to YMCA and using their machines). Exercise combined with my low carb, healthy eating is doing the trick. There isnt one diet that I can follow completely. I need to do stuff that can fit my schedule, lifestyle, and pickiness with foods. I hate fish. I hate nuts. I hate eggs (although I am making omlettes with lowfat cheese and lots of pepper).
Basically - exercise more, and eat less carbs and junk.
I also really like Paul McKenna. He has a series on TLC called I can make you thin. He goes into the psycological aspect of weight loss. Its really helped me. I guess he has some books out too. I'm recording every episode and copying it on dvd because I just think its so valuable. (LMK if you want a copy.)
Anyways, 5 lbs down! Only 45 lbs to go.
