Well, the last month didn't go like I would have liked. I only lost 1 pound. I have been counting calories and working out 3 times a week. But, I started collecting social security this year and cut my work week of 40 hours to 18. I have a very physical job and I think my better eating habits just balance out my lighter work schedule? I can't eat less, so I guess I'll have to workout more. I also have been having terrible pain in my hands. Had test for rheumatoid arthritis that came back negative. Doctor decided I have three trigger fingers on one hand and thumb on other hand. I've already had surgery for one trigger finger, but this time the pain was so bad I couldn't even move the fingers to know they would lock up. Had steroid shots in each joint and it is much better now. Nothing serious, but made it very hard to hold anything much less heavy weights. Hope everyone is doing better than me!

I too have cut back and changed my diet to more protein. I haven't been near as tempted to eat sugary foods and I am glad about that. I sit all day so I really need to move more when I am not working.
I can't wait to get outside and walk if this stupid weather ever gets above freezing. I would like to get a treadmill but I really don't have any room for one.
Good luck Linda.
In years past, I took the dogs down to the pond no matter what the weather was like. Don't know if it is my age or what, but I just can't stand the cold and haven't been out walking all winter. Spring can't come fast enough for me.

Hi there, not sure if you have tried this or not. But not only looking at calories, have you checked the numbers on the carbs in your fruits and veggies? sometimes people struggle thinking they are consuming good when it might not be so good. Here's a page you can look up some of the different groups and compare carbs. That might help. I know i am attaching that link wrong.

Dont get disheartened, a 1lb off is good! Sounds like you have had enough to deal with this month. Once the spring comes, i bet you will start to see the lbs dropping off.
I am also trying to lose weight, I was at my heaviest on June 5th 2009 (i remember the date clearly as it was the day i had an op). Since then, i have lost 28lbs in total. Slow and sure, but it is coming off :-)
