I have an eight year old cat...she has been very healthy. Lately I have noticed some weight loss, not a huge amount just enough to make me wonder. So I have been debating wether to take her into the vet. She also looks a bit ragged to me...like her hair is a mess and it is normally shiny and smooth. Now it looks greasy and like it needs combing. Now I have never bathed this cat in my life and she looks like she needs one. Is it normal for her age to get less pretty? She is my first and probably only cat I have ever owned, as my parents hated cats growing up and my hubby isn't fond of them. I have switched her food recently to a mature cat formula. We had her in for her annual check-up and shots in December. Anyway, she acts healthy so I wonder if I am just being paranoid.

Prolly wouldn't hurt to have her checked out again. Hope all is well.
