The puppy will be 7 weeks old when we bring her home in just over a months time. Any suggestions to make the transition easier for me..![]()

Not at all. % months later and they still dont like each other. I would love to read the advice you get.
Puppy will want to play w/kitty, and kitty may or may not like that.
Make sure kitty has a safe place to escape to away from puppy in each room of your house.* The higher the better!
Concentrate on puppy at first, and allow kitty to approach at his/her own pace.* Kitties love to make their own decisions and simply hate having anything or anybody forced on them.* (They're not very big on change . . .* :)
You might try rubbing towel on kitty and then rubbing the towel on puppy to transfer kitty scent to puppy.* Cats are sensitive to smell; if puppy smells like kitty, kitty might be willing to be friendlier.
Make sure kitty sees you giving lots of affection to puppy and that puppy sees you giving lots of affection to kitty.* You are the boss of the house, and they should take their cues from you.* I'm a big believer in letting pets work out their own issues as long as no one is hurting anyone else (an unbreakable rule in my house).
I think we had it easier.* We had Ruffy first.* We brought Pillage & Plunder home later & simply gave them to Ruffy.* They absolutely adore him, but then they've never had the house to themselves like your kitty.
Good luck.* Would love to see photos . . .*![]()
So far! So good!!! ;D
