My kitty is and he needs shots. The funny thing is I'm a nurse giving shots is nothing new. However giving the cat a shot scares me he jumps I jump
.
One of my cats is on sub q fluids. After the first few times getting the needle in was no big deal. Is the shot IM or sub q I don't remember?
sub q. but he is such a freak he hates it. everyone else says after awhile thier cat did not mind either
That was true for Deena also. I had a hard time getting her to deal with it at first and we spent a couple of months with her not getting enough fluids, but I got very stubborn and it's a war I won although there are occasional battles I lose.
i like the occ battles lost. I feel that way now he always gets his shot. But he protests a bit. And some days I'm afraid I did not get it into him
Not a cat, but my Doberman is diabetic. Thank goodness she is so good about it because she gets 2 shots in the morning and 2 shots in the evening. She gets both Humulin R and Humulin N.
Can't you draw them in the same needle. Rule of thumb for people anyway is clear to cloudy. R should be clear and drawn first as not to contaminate the N. That how we give it to our patients.
