Just a little info on a cat I think is pretty cool. I picked him out at 4 months, I never wanted a male, thought they would mark stuff (as it turns out, one of my female cats does the marking). He was this little orange cat, found wandering the streets when he was brought to the rescue. I picked him up, he fell asleep in my arms, it was done, he was coming home. The first time we introduced him to the other cats, he hissed and I was scared he would never fit in. Little did I know, Jones doesnt have a mean bone in his body. As he grew, he tried to make friends with the 3 other cats. They tolerated him, but they never really liked him. Then, a seizure hit. It was the first of many, so scary and I felt so bad for him. He let out a meow I have never heard before, I thought he was caught or in great pain. When the seizure hit, it was like someone tossed him into the air, he was that uncontrolable. After the seizures, I think he may be blind, he cuddles and doesn't leave our side. He also seems very week. After one particularly bad seizure, we made another vet appt.. The vet put him through a series of simple tests, jump off the counter, follow the toy in the vets hand (after which the vet asked if we were sure he wasn't always blind), and some others. The conclusion, Jones probably had some nuerological trama, we knew that. He is the most ungraceful, uncatlike cat, I have ever met. He falls off tables, took him forever to learn to jump, and to this day still spills out if the conditions aren't perfect.
He is also the sweetest cat I have owned. He is the first to greet anyone who comes to the house and he was the first to fall in love with Lola, the dog. He follows her wherever she goes, if she's outside, he comes out to on his leash. If she's eating, he's at the bowl eating with her. He sleeps next to her, he's head over heels. When Lola uses him as a chew toy, he doesn't hiss, claw, bite, or run away. Lola has has his entire head in her mouth, he could care less.
So, that's probably enough about my cat Jones. As you can see, I think he's pretty cool. He will probably always have seizures and he will never be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but that's just fine because his heart makes up for it all. Thanks for reading!

What a sweet story about your cat, Jones. He sounds very special.
Are the seizures caused by neurological trauma?? Have the vets been able to find anything that slows down the seizures?
I would love to see pictures of him! I wonder if he looks like my yellow tabby, Scooter.

He sounds wonderful. Some how the special needs cats always make up for the extra effort.
Looking forward to pictures

Anne,
They don't quite know what causes the seizures, the vet said as long as they stay under 1 minute, and aren't that frequent, there was really nothing they could do. I don't want to put him on medicine if I don't have too. The only problems with them is that he's pulled out a nail a couple of times, and he chipped a tooth. He's always a trooper though, I didn't even know about the nail until I went to clip them a couple of days later. It's been about a month or so since the last one.
I'll post pics as soon as I can figure out how. Still not that computer savvy.
After reading your story, I fell for Jones, too.
I have a special weakness for orange cats . . . love the look of them.
And Jones sounds like a sweetheart.*
Would love to see a photo!
