Ever so gentlly on you chin or eyes in the morning to wake you up.
Way back in my single years I had the most wonderful sealpoint Siamese who would sleep on the pillow next to mine at night. In the morning, every morning, this is how she would waken me. It was so dear.
Any of your kitties do this?

Ahhh, I wish I did. My Mary cat would lay on my chest every night as we feel asleep though. She would purr and purr and purr.
Sophie doesn't gentle paw you awake. She walks all over my body saying, "Get out of this bed and feed me."

LOL Nance...that's so sweet.
My Barnacle Boy is always laying on me or snuggled up next to me when I'm in bed.* If I'm too engrossed in the tv and not paying him the attention he feels he deserves he'll look up at me and paw my face very gently....just enough to say....PAY ATTENTION TO ME NOW PLEASE.
Wibby is another story.* She lives on my pillow.* As soon as I lay down, she starts kneading and slobbering in my hair.* *:-\* *I know cats are supposed to be independent but mine couldn't possibly be more needy and clingy...lol.
Aww how sweet
I wish my Oliver was like that. But nope... Oliver miaus!!! Loudly and constantly.. Untill I get up and feed him
Jeanette and Luna. Sleep tight Oliver, our little kitty, thank you for 15 great years

I wish Dooley would be that gentle. He gets a running start from the hall and lands squarely on your chest, motor going furiously, letting you know "The Cat" is hungry. This of course awakens the soundly sleeping beag and labby who were cuddled up on the bed! Dog hysterics...where is that Cat?!!! While Dooley saunters down the hall to the kitchen, knowing I can't go back to sleep with all the dog commotion and will be along soon to deliver his breakfast!![]()

That's just the sweetest thing; but it doesn't happen here.
We are the ones waking them up . . .
me w/my insomnia
SU w/various disabilities
SU had a beautiful grey tabby years ago who would wake him up by:
creeping up softly on his pillow . . . (here he comes)
laying his head next to SU's . . . (isn't that cute?)
then Biting SU's ear!* ;D* ;D* ;D
SU fell for it each day!*
Zabby's self fed, but spends most of his time in my room when I'm not home, so he is always really ready for "mom time". He does use his paws (claws in) to pat my cheek.
Roxi used to dance on us to wake us up. Metzli headbutted your face and then if that didn't work paced on your back. Callie just plaintively meowed.
