We took Sadie in yesterday because we were concerned with her next to zero appetite and kinda drinking water. Doctor did a blood test, and results today indicated elevated levels again meaning still problems with her kidneys. He requested information about her littermates because he thinks it might be a genetic thing, but unfotunately we have no information as we got her from a rescue.
I'd be more than glad to help her live a long and happy despite her medical condition. But she needs to have an appetite for her own good.
Please keep her in your thoughts.
Oh not again, so sorry. I hope they figure out what is going on with Sadie.

Thank you for the thoughts. The vet gave her an injection of antibiotics and vitamins. He sent us home with a tube of stuff called "nutri-cal" that's a gel that we can stick in her mouth that should provide her with sufficient nutrients while we're still trying to get her to eat.
The whole thing is kinda mindblowing and heartbreaking because she gets excited about food... when she sees us take it out or hears it hitting her bowl she comes running. But she takes one sniff and she walks away.
We've tried her kidney food, dry food, wet food, tuna, and baby food (beef with no onion powder)
Any thoughts?
have you tried raw? maybe it will work
Karina, Abzilla and the Helomonster.
Well, we spent a week force feeding her baby food and nutri-cal to ensure that she got her vitamins. We were pretty sure that the antibiotics (clavamox) was making her nauseous because she was interested in food, but the second she smelled it she'd vomit. After talking with the vet we took her off the antibiotics and he gave her an "appetite stimulant" shot.
So I'm thrilled to say that she is now eating regularly on her own Her appetite is not the same it was before all this, but it's back and I'm so very grateful to still have her in my life. We have multiple bowls of water around the house and multiple bowls of food accessible to her at all times. She still gets the nutri-cal once a day to make sure she's getting her much needed nutrients.
Every night as she runs up the stairs (her nightly routine) when I'm headed to bed I can't help but smile and sometimes cry because I'm thrilled she's still here.
Thank you guys for your support
Sorry I missed this and glad to hear she's doing better. You might ask your vet about an appetite stimulant pill.
When my sweet Maine Coon, Sherman, was in the early stages of battling FIP we kept him interested in food for a while with meds. I forget the name, but it was quite effective (at least for a while until the disease got too bad).
