We live on a 500 acre farm in the Ozarks of Missouri raising Black Angus cattle and colored Angora goats. We have three Great Pyrenees for protection of the stock and I always said I would not have a non working dog on the farm. That was until my 10 year old son asked for a dog of his own that was not always with the animals or living in the barns. At first I said no but then after him earning it I realized, every boy should have a dog. Our neighbors have Labs and love them to death so it was an easy decision for me on what type of dog he should have...a Chocolate Lab! After a lot of searching we were off yesterday on a road trip to Oklahoma where we met a great breeder and purchased a Lab. Well 10 hours and three pieces of clothing later, from the wonderful biting, I found your forum and we are already making progress. I am now tempted to rename him T-Rex after his shredding ability of kids clothes! I am sure we will spend a lot of time on your forum and appreciate those that make it possible as well as those offering advice to a "Lab Newbie".

Love the name of your chocolate...our farm name is Indian Springs Farm so we name all dogs based on Indian names...right now we have three pyrenees named Dakota, Pawnee, and Zuni as well as our new addition Apache! Does yours love to latch onto clothes like ours? He is already better after having him two days but has scared my 4 year old pretty good.
