Hi I have 4 month old chocolate female lab named Ruby. She is not my first dog, but is my first lab. She is one smart cookie, sometimes too smart lol. I have three boys, 20, 22, and 25 still at home and my husband. She gets plenty exercise playing around! She is just finishing up puppy kindergarten and did really well. The only thing she does I find annoying is her nipping/biting I guess the teething is getting to her lol. We adore her. I am looking for a place to share information, and get expert advice when I need it, I have tried a few other forums but haven't been happy there. Nice to meet you all!
Welcome! with the nipping and bitting give her a strong no bite command.

Welcome! What Deidra said, saying "No" firmly works. She is trying to play, but she needs to know it hurts, and will stop eventually.
We broke Sophie in about a month. She stopped at 3 months old. We put a hand on her muzzle and in a firm voice said "Don't Bite"! Always the same command each time. No is too vague. Good luck! They're smart and will figure out what you expect. If Ruby was younger than 8 weeks when you got her, it is harder to break her of it. Just be consistant, and don't let her slide on it now an then.
