    Default Greetings from Canada

    HI,
    Greetings everyone

I haven't picked up my lab puppy yet. October 7th is the big day but thought I would register already. I will post pictures once she's home. We are adopting a yellow female from a breeder. There are many reasons for going the breeder route. We have 3 beagles who are very head strong and independent and after fostering a one year old lab the experience did not go well. I’m hoping that from a breeder, after meeting the parents and talking with her, I’ll have better chances in getting a calmer dog. I know there are no guarantees but one can hope. There were too many dominance issues going on and had to find her another place, so I’ve been working on my dogs (and myself) as I determined that my Benny thought I belonged to him. Benny unfortunately passed away this summer and now I find myself adopting a lab.
I did have a black lab before and all I can say she was the best dog ever and I never had an issue with her. So I’m hoping all will go well with the other 2 beagles and a puppy. Cooper is 6 and Tilly is 7. I will include a pic of my beagles once i figure out how to do that.

The word "calm" and lab puppy don't go together! LOL! Good luck with the new puppy! I hope that since you are getting a baby, it will grow with your beagles and hopefully, they will get along better that the foster you introduced into your family.

lol no you are right that calm and lab puppy don't go together. What I think I meant was more laid-back and a more happy-go-lucky attitude.

Actually my Blaise was a very calm laid back puppy and remains so as an adult. You just have to make sure that the breeder is choosing according to your needs. Good luck with the new puppy and welcome!

So by now you must have your puppy!!! How is it going? What did you end up with, Male or Female and what name did you choose.
