Afternoon!
I have just signed up to this website as a very proud Labrador owner.
My gorgeous girl is a Black Lab called 'Pepper' ... well, she actually has a very fancy name but her house name is Pepper.
She is only 7 months old and is doing very well! Her training is brilliant and she couldn't be any softer if she tried.
We have 3 young sons aged 4, 3 and 6 months. Pepper is obsessed with our youngest Thomas, 6 months. She lays with him, sleeps in his room, licks him constantly and will run to either me or my husband if Thomas even whimpers. We couldn't believe the connection between them. Thomas will pull on her ears and tail and grab at her face and she will just lay next to him sleeping, not in the slightest bit bothered.
The first time I really noticed the bond was when Thomas fell from his Moses Basket in the night, he was sleeping next to our bed and had rolled over for the first time and the basket tipped. He hit the floor and screamed, I woke immediatly ... before I got to Thomas Pepper was already there licking his head. I picked Thomas up and rocked him trying to settle him. Pepper growled at me the whole time, not aggressivly ... just to be sure I wasn't going to hurt him.
Once me and my husband had reassured her that Thomas was ok she settled back down, but kept waking throughout the night to peer into his basket (which was reinforced!)
She really is our little dream dog, and the only little lady in the family apart from me!!

Welcome! Our Sophie is now 16 weeks...such a joy in our lives! It sounds like your Pepper is a very special pup as well!
So you had a 2 month old infant and a brand new puppy at the same time? You must be a saint!
Welcome to the forum!
Sharon - still not a dude.
Cool!
What a great story......these labs are special dogs indeed. I just got mine 2 weeks ago, 10 weeks old now, and they are a very special breed. You sound like you have a magical and very loyal dog there.
Labs and Kids, no better combinations
Welcome from a fellow UK'er! I was down your end of the country last week (Okehampton). Devon is my most favourite place in the world, especially the moors![]()
Bernie, Mum to Harvey, 'Spare Mum' to Seth.
The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.
