I was so happy to find this forum and look forward to being part of the group. I have owned two black labs (both have now passed) and am about to bring home a chocolate lab puppy, so everything will be new again. It has been a long time since I have had a puppy, but I am looking forward to it. I look forward to getting to know all of you as well.
hi,sorry for your loss. They say the best way to get over a loss is to get a puppyin my case I got an adult but he has helped me in more ways then just filling in the whole.

We lost our sweet Maggie in May after 12 yrs. We bought Sophie in June. She has been such a joy! I am kind of over protective (neurotic? LOL!) and watch her like a hawk. Losing Maggie has made me a little on edge, I am so afraid something will happen to Sophie. She is 14 1/2 weeks and 33 lbs now. She too, is a chocolate. It had been 12 yrs since I had a puppy, and boy do I feel old some days! Its having a baby in the house! Good luck with your new addition, enjoy!
Hello. I'm fairly new as well. I've been lurking for the last few weeks - just not doing a lot of posting. I also lost my baby Chelsea (13.5 year old black lab) in June on Father's Day. We weren't planning on getting a new dog so quickly however, the stars aligned and we welcomed a beautiful chocolate lab puppy in our home on July 1st. Fender is now 11 weeks old and has brought a lot of smiles, love and happiness to our home. However, it has been 13 years since we had a puppy...I had forgotten a lot of those puppy behaviours....worth every minute of it though. This website has been amazing as a resource to help keep me sane...lol.
