On the 4th of July we took a road no one goes on so that we could look at a rain gauge since it had finally rained in MS. Laying out in the middle of the road was a black lump and as we were slowing down...another went dashing past the truck. We stopped and found it was a pup in the road and his little sister had gone running past. They were in such bad shape. We took them home, fed them and let them sleep and took them to the vet as soon as they opened. Dangerously underweight, little male was so anemic with hookworks he is on med. They both have red mange...but the little girl has it really bad. The vet was unable to give them a flea bath because of their poor health.
Long story short...both of them have perked up considerably. The little girl's mange is still bad and she is still itching a lot. The vet thinks they are about 10 weeks old. There has to be a special place for people when they cross over when they dump dogs. Precious little babies they are...and they are now named Bonnie & Clyde...lol
Thank you for taking them in! I was going to ask if they could be lost since my dog jumped the fence when he heard firecrackers and it took 2-3 days to find him. After I read the whole story I think it sounds like another dump storyI hope they recover soon and the nasty mange goes away. Oh and welcome

Thanks deidra...no definetly they didn't run away...don't think they could have run even if they had wanted to. But we did look around to see if maybe the mom and other litter mates could have been around. Their little bones were sticking out all over the place. Was just looking to see if I could post a pic...hoping to do that real soon![]()
Ok...going to give it a shot of posting a pic of Bonnie & Clyde. Probably will be hard to see since they are both black.

Oh thank you so much for saving them!!
I hope the people who dumped them rot in hell.
PLEASE post pics of these sweet babies as soon as you can!!
Are you planning on keeping them?
lol java...I wanted to say there must be a special place in hell...but wasn't sure if I could use that word. Oh we are for sure keeping them. The hard part is I had to return home (California) and my fiancee is there giving them their meds and taking them to the vet, etc. He already loves them as much as I do. I am trying to sell my townhome and then will be moving, but who knows when that will be.
I made an attempt to post the pic...but just realized...its way too big. I'll try again with smaller pics.
Ok...going to try this again
Here's Bonnie:
and here's Clyde:

I did do all that...I have a feeling they are holding it since I'm a new member to check it out first. If they don't post soon, I'll check with admin to see what's going on. Thanks for the info.
