Hello All!
We are a family of 4 (my wife, and 2 boys, ages 7 & 8 respectively) from Rehoboth, MA. We are new to the forum (as well as to the breed!!) We have rescued a beautiful 5 month old black lab from one of the wonderful rescue orgs (unsure if I can mention names??) and will be officially making him a family member on July 9th.
I was thrilled to find this forum, and look forward to learning much from all you veteran labbies

On the 9th (after the little guy has driven for a loooong time up to New England) we are going to have a 2 hour ride back home. Any pointers for our first trip together will be most appreciated!

Hi and thank you for rescuing. Will he have a trvliong crate when he gets to you? It will be easier to have him in one so he is not jumping up into the front seat. Maybe bring some toys like a kong with frozen peanut butter in it to keep him busy.

Congrats on the pup!
Hopefully the car ride back won't be too bad - just make sure he's had some outside/play time before you load him back up for the drive home and expect him to be somewhat exhausted and out of sorts at the changes.

We got our Bella from L4R 4 years ago, and it was an awesome
experience ! They are a great group and I do home visits when
I can to help them out.
I would say what another member mentioned, he will have had
a looooong ride in the transport truck, so make sure he gets a
good walk, pee, poop in before going in your car.
Bella was so full of it, I ended up playing with an empty water
bottle with her, but she was only 10 or 12 weeks at the time.
