Hello from Portland, OR.

Hello All,

I've been lurking around these forums for a few weeks now, so I figured I'd introduce myself. We just got our lab pup about 8 weeks ago. He is a yellow lab - name is Deegan. So far we are having a blast with the little guy. He is very sweet, smart and aims to please. He obviously has his pup tendencies - chewing, nipping, etc. But he was potty trained within a week of bringing him home... he knows, sit, wait, leave it, five, paw, gentle, circle, down and crawl. So eager to learn!

A little about myself - I'm a Network Engineer in Portland, Oregon. My wife is a vet tech/hospital manager at a local vet clinic (independently owned). We have cats, a bearded dragon and now Deegan (we call him lil' D). We have lost our two previous dogs this year - a lab mix to cancer in August, and most recently, our beloved Pit Bull from cancer on December 1st. They were our lives - still struggling with the loss of both of them. They were both too young to go - both of them were 8 years old. The lab mix was a rescue, the Pit Bull we've had since he was 8 weeks old.

Deegan is growing up fast! He's 35.2lbs and he'll be 15 weeks on Wednesday. I'm hoping I figure out how to post a pic of him on here... this was a picture from last week!

I've been reading some great posts/advice/etc from the members here. You can always learn something, no matter how much you know you think!

East Multnomah county, You know the windy part Thxs Sammi the chocolate lab is ours- Howie is the Grand- doggie. I need to update that picture since we now have another Grand- doggie, Murphy!

Ha! We are in east Multnomah county, too! So I know all about the winds!
