I'm excited to hear about it. I just got the Mike Lardy DVD's and have had a great time watching them!

It was fabulous! I'll try to write a report over the weekend. It's been very busy since I came back.

The workshop was fantastic. We had 10 handlers (people who brought dogs) and 25 observers (myself included). It was a bigger group than usual. I was frankly surprised to see so many women at the workshop. Trials are predominantly attended by men. Most of the women were involved in obedience and conformation, few in hunt tests. It was also a surprise. Even among the men at the workshop, most were hunt test people, not trial people. I did not mind since I am also more of an obedience/tracking/hunt test person right now than a trial person.

I did not recognize Mike Lardy when he appeared. I've seen him in his DVDs but never in person. He shaved off his mustache. And he is much taller than was my impression from the tapes. He is absolutely marvelous in reading the dogs and communicating with the dogs. Very fair in all respects. There were two handlers that he took over some training with their dogs, and it was amazing to see the difference in responses from the dogs.

Most of the dogs were at the basics level. There was only one dog doing doubles. Another dog doing cold blinds. Several dogs going through various stages of swim-by.

    [Ok, more to come]

At the workshop, I saw Bolo marks for the first time up close and personal. They are super cute. I hope Evey has them since her daddy throws them to his offspring often.

There is a new chocolate puppy owned by a local breeder in a show litter sired by a local chocolate stud dog who has big bolo marks on his front paws. They are very cute...and his, because of their size, are quite obvious. LOL
