Default My first home bred MH!

Just received word that WindyCanyon's Shooting Star CD RA MH NA TD "Rion" (GMHR BIS Am/Mex/Intl CH Cook's Midnight Bandit MH TT x Intl Ch WindyCanyon's Sweetest Fuji CDX RN JH NA NAJ CC) finished her Master Hunter title today!!! I had stopped by the hunt test yesterday on our way home from our obed trials and knew they were doing well, but as they say, it ain't over til the fat lady sings and today's very wet weather proved to cause some real issues w/ the test itself! Rion is 4.5 yrs old.

Funny thing, Rion WAS my Sonya #1 til the pups were almost 8 wks when I decided she'd be better off w/ Fred and I'd be wiser to take the mellower pup of the 2 pick girls that time around from Bandit. Great decision on my part!

I am so proud of Fred for insisting that she be 100% owner trained and handled to her MH, even scratching her from tests when work called him away (he's a surgeon). Not only is this his first Master Hunter, but Fred also does advanced obedience (they have 1Q toward CDX and are working on utility as well), Tracking, and even took up agility w/ Rion!

I probably don't have to say how thrilled I still am that he chose a pup from one of my breedings!

Yay for Rion! Your dogs need shorter reg. names, so they are not so long when all those titles get put on there.

    That's cool!

I love to mix things up for these dogs. Smart dogs get bored doing the same thing over and over.

You got that right... I remember doing obed, agility, SH, and tracking all at once w/ Rosa for months. She handled it far better than I did, I think! Now I pretty much stick to obed/rally/hunt test w/ my 1-2 yos, and once we get the CDX done, I may move onto agility as I am w/ Envy right now. Agility and SH work seem to be a nice blend of work and fun/destressor.
